Curiosity does not kill the cat. Most of the time.

Hey, I’m Adriana to some Adri. The most interesting thing happening in my life currently is that I somehow entered the dance scene in the UK and consequently have gained a lot from the experiences that followed.

Two years ago, one night whilst binge-watching dance videos on YouTube. I had an intense DEJA VU moment and the next thing I knew I was ‘dead’ set on attending a dance class – having no dance experience and starting at what is considered the “‘old age” of 20. That night, at 3 am I was assured by Quora along with all the other online forums – that I would be fine and that all it took was the first step with some added courage and mild curiosity.

It’s 2023 and I’ve ended up battling on stage in public taking dance a lot more seriously than one would pursuing a hobby. I’ve only gained so much that I just wished I had started sooner. For that reason, I don’t think “curiosity killed the cat” I think curiosity and risk-taking adds to one’s character development and only continues to strengthen “the hero’s journey”.

“Curiosity killed the cat, but it came back” has more of a ring to it.
This was an alternate variation of the original saying published by the Galveston Daily News in 1905 that I quite like. I like the tone of this one because it’s much more optimistic when referencing the cat and its “multiple lives” and honestly that’s how I’m starting to think how I can approach things in life in a slightly more optimistic way.

Though there’s been struggles which are inherent I’ve managed to meet some incredible people that I consider my closest friends today – through this “hobby” and experienced things I probably wouldn’t have had the chance to had I not been curious enough. Which Leads me to believe that perhaps in reality most of the time curiosity does not kill the cat.
