Hello World!—Haijie Wang’s introduction

Hi, I’m Haijie Wang and you can call me Jae, I’m from Zhenjiang City, Guangdong province, China and I’m currently studying Digital Media and Communication. I’ve always been interested in how technology and media shape the way we communicate and share content.

Aside from my studies, I love playing table tennis—it’s a great way for me to unwind and stay active. Let’s take a look the photo below:

That’s my friend Jacky Xie, from his batting posture, we can tell that he is a senior billiards enthusiast.I think playing billiards is a very gentlemanly sport that allows people to think calmly. What do you think?

Next, let me share an interesting thing related to my major. This past August, my partners and I took on a fun project where we ran a month-long live e-commerce broadcast, selling blind boxes online. It was a great learning experience that combined my passion for digital media with real-world business!

The picture above shows that we are selling a toy called “Pinch” in the form of blind boxes. This is a decompression toy. When you squeeze it hard, it will automatically bounce back when you let go. In this process, some “pinching” will make some sounds. This process and the sound can bring you a relaxing and pleasant feeling.

This picture records the highest number of people online, from a few people online at the beginning to 663 people watching online at the same time. I have never felt such a sense of accomplishment before. Of course, the income from this game is also very considerable, and it even caused a shortage of goods. This made me and my partners sigh at the charm of e-commerce live broadcasting, and also learned and reflected on how important efficiency is in the Internet age!

This is a brief self-introduction blog. Of course, this is also my first freshman blog. In the following time, I will continue to share some blogs related to daily life or professional topics. I hope my story can bring you some inspiration and fun. Thank you for your concern and reading!
