Hello World, I’m SeungJu!

This photo was taken in one of my favourite beaches in Busan, which is a large port city in South Korea.

Hello there!

My name is SeungJu Lee and I’m from South Korea!

I was born in Seoul (which is the capital city of South Korea) and have moved to many different countries ever since I was the age of 8 years old.

I lived in Indonesia during my elementary school years, moved to New Zealand during middle school, and then I moved back to Korea during high school.

After 18 months of military service in my home country, South Korea, I am finally here in London to study digital media!

My hobbies include watching movies and documentaries, as well as listening to various sorts of music.

One of my favourite movies of all time is one of director Bong Joon Ho’s early works, titled “The Host”. The movie was first released in 2006, and to my eyes it is a cinematic masterpiece.

From the cinematography, the emotional acting from the perfectly casted actors, bits of dark humour and the message of the film. I do not wish to spoil or even explain further about this film; it is simply an experience and I hope whoever reads this to go watch this film. (If you already have, then go watch it again!)

Moreover, I used to play the cello for 10 years which is probably why I have a soft spot for classical music, especially if it’s Bach or Vivaldi.

2CELLOS are a cellist duo from Croatia and are one of the most famous modern cellists currently.

I grew up watching these 2 play a lot and even to this day I am amazed at their use of skills and techniques when it comes to playing their cello.

One way to describe to their style of play is that they are very animated.

Although, lately I have been interested in a niche music genre known as “math rock”, which is like a combination of alternative and indie rock yet it has abnormal and complex rhythmic structures. Due to my love for math rock, I would like to learn how to play the guitar someday!

Tricot is a Japanese math rock band and they are such a joy to listen to!

I am always intrigued in meeting new people and learning different cultures. I strongly believe communication is important when it comes to social interaction as it helps us to connect with others, which in-turn helps us to understand others and recognise several different perspectives as well.

That will be all for this blog, have a great day!
